What a belter of a day! And a big turnout of top sailors for Gwithian -Timo, Hunty, Wemmsy, SJ, Adam Simms, Nick Moffat, Jan Sleigh, Fawcett, Blackie, Kingy, Dan, wish I hadn't started this list.. loads of 'em.
Opinions were divided on where best to sail; the huge powerful but dumping monsters at Gwithian, or the smaller cleaner waves upwind at Phillick Towans and Mexico's. Everywhere was great fun, but Gwithian definitely involved the highest swimming/hit rate as it was mast high and closing out on the big ones. Luckily the wind was fairly consistent 4.5m and the currents weren't too bad despite the spring tides.

I've got to say that my Da Curve 85 is a sick board and is still growing on me! I'm absolutely loving it, wish I'd got one sooner. Despite some tricky sections and some bad chop on the faces down at Gwithian, the board never let me down, never span out, bloody brilliant and confidence inspiring.
JC was also out taking shots all day and I've a tiny amount of vid.
Great start to 2009 :)
